Create Campaign
The process of creating a campaign is a technical process that needs to be carefully planned and structured. The most important reason for this is to establish a realistic scenario. Here are the steps to consider in the campaign creation process, which forms the basis of the simulation you will apply to your target audience:
1. Title
The first step is to carefully define the target audience of your campaign. Which departments, positions, or user groups are targeted? At this stage, you should identify the most vulnerable areas of your organization. Based on this, you can create your campaign title and if you want to elaborate, you can enter a description of the campaign.
In this step, there is a field where you need to enter a domain name. In this field, you should choose a domain name suitable for your scenario or campaign. You can choose one of the ready-made ones created to resemble real domain names, or you can create a new one. You can proceed to the next step.
2. Template
To start a new simulation, you first need to create a template. This template is the basis for the fake phishing emails that will be sent. When creating a template, you specify the following:
- Template name
- Subject
- Which actions to track (e.g., Clicked Links, Submitted Data, File Downloaded, File Executed)
- Email content
👉 For more detailed information, you can review the Template Creation section.
3. Landing Page
The landing page consists of fields where the simulated group can enter their personal information when they click on the link in the email. The landing page should contain elements that will attract users and encourage them to spend more time on the page. For example, you can include special offers, sweepstakes, or gift promises. An overly detailed landing page will cause people to leave the page, and vice versa, which can reduce the credibility of the campaign. When creating a landing page, you follow these steps:
- Page name
- Page content
- Import the corresponding HTML file
This landing page is presented to the target people when they click on the links in the fake email.
👉 For more detailed information, you can review the Page Creation section.
4. SMTP Profile
The SMTP setting contains information that determines which server and which settings your email client (for example, an email application or program) will use to send your emails. These settings are the information you need to enter when configuring your email account or changing the settings of your email client.
In the section called “SMTP Profiles” you can review your existing SMTP profiles, add new profiles or edit existing ones. Or you can create a new SMTP profile when creating a campaign.
5. Targets and Groups
The first step of defining the target group can be configured in a very flexible and user-friendly way. If you already have an existing target group or target, you can proceed by simply making a selection. However, if you want to create a new group, customize the target, or edit an existing group, you can easily do so by clicking on the plus button.
This is used to determine who the simulation is sent to. You can segment by various demographic or departmental criteria.
Additionally, you have the option to import target audience data using a CSV file. This flexible approach allows you to structure your target audience as you desire, making your process more efficient. You can also perform this process under the “Targets and Groups” section through the “Simulation” category in the same way.
